The Game

It's Halloween, and Jack has forgotten to stock up on sweets for the trick-or-treaters. The shops are closed so he heads down to the next best place he knows: the local graveyard!

Jack must collect as many sweets as he can while dodging the skeletons. Thankfully the skeletons aren't too smart, and can be defeated with some quick manoeuvring.

Graveyard Shift was created in 10 days for The GameDev.tv Game Jam 2022, with the theme "death is only the beginning".

Absolutly love it, it made me laugh! this would be a great mobile game too where you tilt the phone to move around like the all in maze Christmas cracker game/toy.

Amazing visuals! I liked the clean and solid gameplay mechanics. I could "feel" getting pushed back by the little skeleton guys. The only thing I feel I could ask for would be a slight adjustment to either the camera or the controls. Because of how the camera is "looking leftwards", moving "up" results in a slightly diagonal path.

Very nicely done!

Thanks for playing 😁 Glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback!

The game feels very well done with the simple mechanics. The movement controls is good, the assets all feel very well matched. The theme is well mixed together.

So only one thing would be good to improve is... to move the bottom text "Lure skeletons together..." or make it smaller.. cause i didn't know the bottom area was a place i could walk.

Also it would be nice to add more UHM! effects or sounds to give some sort of satisfying feeling.

but anyways.  thumbs up for good job !

Funny you should say that, I had some feedback that the prompts weren't obvious enough so I made them bigger. 😄 Glad you liked it and thanks for playing!
